Message From the Executive Director Donald P. Wolfe
We are pleased you have chosen to learn more about McAuley Ministries. We have a rich heritage of providing the basic human needs of food, shelter and clothing to the poor, homeless and most vulnerable in our community.
We are an independent non-profit 501(c) (3) organization sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy of the Northeast Community. Our core values of treating all with hospitality, compassion and dignity are rooted in charity and justice towards those we serve. By spending a few minutes here with us, you can get to know more about the wonderful works our volunteers and staff perform every day.
At McAuley House, more than 70,000 meals are served each year to those who are homeless and poor, and emergency prescriptions, rental vouchers and transportation are provided to those in need. Referrals to other Social Service agencies for housing and medical assistance, art classes, worship services and educational programs all help to encourage self-sufficiency and self-esteem in our guests.
McAuley Village and Child Care, our two-year family building transitional living program for formerly homeless mothers and their children, has helped hundreds of families survive and thrive and become responsible members of our community. Additionally, our Child Care program offers Head Start and Early Head Start curriculum programs.
The Warde-robe provides the working poor with the opportunity to access clean, good quality clothing at minimal cost more than 10,000 times a year, so that these women and men are able to present themselves with pride in their work environment.
We call these works of charity and volunteerism "McAuley Miracles" and they happen everyday at McAuley House, McAuley Village and the Warde-robe. You can help sustain McAuley Ministries into the future with a contribution of your time and expertise or with financial support.
At McAuley Ministries we make a difference for a day, a week and longer in the life of a man, woman or child in need. We thank you for allowing us to share with you, here, something of these essential and life-giving labors.
