Jim Silva, the Newest
Member of the McAuley House
Social Ministry Team
We are pleased to introduce you to one of McAuley Ministries’ newest employees, Mr. Jim Silva.
Jim joined Sr. Joan and Carol Leveillee as the third member of the McAuley House Social Ministry Team just before the start of summer; joining us as the Housing Case Manager. He holds a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Rhode Island College, and is also a Certified Methadone Assistant, Peer-to-Peer Specialist and HMIS contact. Jim comes to McAuley Ministries with 10 years of experience working tirelessly with homeless and low-income individuals to find them affordable housing and a place to call their own.
Prior to joining McAuley Ministries, Jim worked for Riverwood Mental Health Services and the Rhode Island Coalition for the Homeless, as well as The Legal Aid Society in Bronx, NY. You can find Jim Monday through Friday from 8am to 12pm meeting with McAuley House guests, helping them with their housing applications and doing all he can to meet their need for affordable housing.
Sr. Joan and Carol love having him on their team, because he “knows the struggles of the people he serves, and he’s passionate about his work.” Welcome aboard, Jim, we’re happy to have you!

Exciting News: Child Care Learning Center Opens 2nd Toddler Room
At each of our ministries, we pride ourselves in the ability to constantly adapt to meeting the changing needs of our community and those we serve. Nowhere has this been more evident than at our Child Care Learning Center.
Over the past year, there has been a growing demand for the high-quality child care and early education we provide our toddler-aged children, but there was only one problem—our Toddler Room was at full capacity. Well, that’s no longer the case!
After having several toddlers on our enrollment waiting list, we’re excited to announce that we’ve opened a second Toddler Room at the CCLC! Now we will be able to provide great care to even more young children. Best of all, we have openings to enroll new children, and we encourage anyone interested to contact Ellen Morey, Child Care Director, at (401) 467-3630 ext. 17 or email@example.com
