We are excited to welcome Pauline Mburu, the new Administrator of McAuley Village! In fact, we are welcoming Pauline back to The Village; she was an intern here in 2009 while completing her Bachelor’s in Social Work at Rhode Island College. She then went on to receive a Master of Science in Human Services from Springfield College and become a clinical social worker with 17 years of experience working with vulnerable populations in Rhode Island. Throughout her career, she has provided compassionate service to the elderly, persons with physical and developmental disabilities, and people suffering from addictions.
Pauline also provides support and insight to an orphanage for children in Kenya, “Joy Children’s Village,” where she was born and educated by Sisters of Mercy. Her language abilities and knowledge of immigrant processes will prove invaluable to the women of McAuley Village, many of whom speak more than one language and nearly one third of whom are immigrants. Pauline is ideally suited to serve the mission of McAuley Ministries of providing the basic needs of food, shelter, clothing, health services, emotional support, guidance, and respect for the most vulnerable in our community through the Mercy core values of hospitality, compassion, and dignity. We couldn’t be prouder to have her on our team. Welcome, Pauline!
