Director of Development

Position Title: Director of Development

Position Summary: McAuley Ministries seeks an experienced and dynamic Director of Development to lead our fundraising and development efforts. The Director will design and implement comprehensive development strategies to secure financial support from individuals, corporations, foundations, and government agencies. This role requires a visionary leader with a proven track record in fundraising, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to inspire and engage donors in McAuley Ministries’ mission.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Planning and Leadership:
• Develop and execute a strategic fundraising plan to meet short-term and long-term financial goals.
• Work in unison with Administrators and Executive Director, providing direction, mentorship, and performance management to accomplish financial goals.
• Work closely with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to align fundraising strategies with organizational goals.

2. Donor Cultivation and Stewardship:
• Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing donors, ensuring effective and timely communication.
• Create and implement donor recognition and stewardship programs.

3. Grant Writing and Management:
• Research and identify potential grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and other funding sources.
• Work in unison with the Grant Writer consultant to design, write, submit, and manage grant proposals and reports.
• Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines and ensure compliance with all reporting requirements.

4. Event Planning and Management:
• Oversee the planning and execution of fundraising events, including annual gala, donor appreciation events, and other special events.
• Collaborate with volunteers, staff, and vendors to ensure successful event outcomes.

5. Marketing and Communications:
• Develop and implement comprehensive marketing and communication strategies to enhance the visibility of McAuley Ministries.
• Create content for fundraising appeals, newsletters, social media, and other communications.
• Manage the organization’s website and online giving platforms.

6. Data Management and Reporting:
• Oversee donor database management to ensure accurate and up-to-date records.
• Analyze fundraising data to evaluate effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
• Prepare regular reports on fundraising progress for the Executive Director and Board of Directors.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business administration, communications, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in fundraising and development, preferably within a non-profit organization.
• Proven track record of successful major gift cultivation and grant writing.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with donors, board members, and community stakeholders.
• Proficiency in fundraising software and donor management systems.
• Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Director of McAuley Village

 

Position Title: Director of McAuley Village
Organization: McAuley Ministries

Position Summary: The Director of McAuley Village is a senior leadership role responsible for the overall management and strategic direction of a 22-unit supportive housing program serving women and children who have experienced homelessness and are survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking.

This role centers on excellence in case management, including direct leadership of case management staff, coordination with partner agencies, and ensuring all services are trauma-informed and outcome-driven. The Director ensures that all programming, housing operations, and partnerships advance resident stability, safety, and long-term independence.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership & Case Management Excellence:
• Lead and supervise all case management staff, ensuring high-quality, consistent, and trauma-informed services
• Facilitate regular case conferencing to drive measurable outcomes in housing and financial stability
• Establish and maintain best practices in case management for survivors
• Ensure all services are culturally responsive and equity-centered

2. Housing Strategy & Policy Awareness:
• Maintain strong working knowledge of housing policy, rental subsidies, and funding streams
• Build relationships with housing authorities, funders, and service providers
• Identify opportunities that expand housing access and stability
• Ensure full occupancy and effective housing navigation outcomes

3. Program & Partnership Development:
• Develop and oversee programming in workforce development, education, and community building
• Collaborate with partners to deliver comprehensive services
• Coordinate with internal programs to maximize outcomes

4. Operations & Property Management:
• Oversee property operations, including leasing, rent collection, and maintenance
• Ensure accurate documentation using Buildium and CaseWorthy
• Maintain a safe and welcoming environment

5. Staff & Volunteer Management:
• Hire, supervise, and evaluate staff and volunteers
• Provide ongoing training in trauma-informed care
• Foster a collaborative team culture

6. Safety & Compliance:
• Ensure building security and emergency preparedness
• Maintain compliance with program and grant requirements

7. Grants, Budget & Performance:
• Collaborate on budget development
• Support grant development and reporting
• Track and evaluate program outcomes

8. Community Representation & Advocacy:
• Represent McAuley Village in the community
• Support communications and donor engagement
• Participate in strategic planning

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required; or equivalent experience
• Leadership in case management within supportive housing

Sales Merchandising Associate

The Part Time Sales Merchandising Associate supports the mission of the organization by helping operate the thrift store in a clean, organized, and welcoming manner. This position is responsible for merchandising donated goods, assisting customers, and operating the cash register to support daily sales.

This role supports daily operations while upholding the mission, values and spirit of Mercy that guide McAuley Ministries.

Key Responsibilities

– Sort, price, stock, and merchandise donated items
– Create neat, attractive displays to encourage sales
– Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sales floor
– Assist customers with locating items and answering basic questions
– Operate the cash register and accurately process sales transactions
– Handle cash, credit, and other forms of payment in accordance with store procedures
– Provide friendly, respectful customer service at checkout
– Support daily store operations, including opening and closing tasks
– Work collaboratively with staff and volunteers
– Follow safety, donation handling, and store policies
– Support special sales, promotions, and seasonal displays

Qualifications & Physical Requirements

– Commitment to the mission and values of the organization
– Retail, thrift, customer service, or cashier experience preferred
– Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
– Strong attention to detail and organization skills
– Ability to lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 40 pounds
– Ability to stand, bend, and reach for extended periods

Schedule

– Flexible days and hours – up to six hours per shift
– Schedule may vary based on budgeting, promotional sales, seasonal needs and overall operational needs of the store. Additional hours may be available based on needs, budget and staff/volunteer coverages.
